Over the past months, both my artistic practice and my personal life have reached a point where a long and intense inner process needed to become visible.
The female figures who have appeared for over a decade in my photographs, paintings, and writings — the girls I tried to bring to life through my art — were never just a motif.
They were my own truth.
In my November 2025 newsletter, “The Girl Who Wouldn’t Be Erased,” I write about this persistent, patient, indestructible presence. A figure returning again and again, slipping between images, words, and memories, until it became clear that she was not meant to be depicted, but finally lived.
My coming-out as trans is therefore less a step outward than a return inward: an acknowledgment of something that had always been there.
I have decided not to hide this truth any longer.
From this week on, I carry my new name: Vesta Magdalena.
With this step, my website and social profiles transition as well: from thomas-sing.de to vestamagdalena.com, from @thomassing_ to @vesta.magdalena on Instagram.
Full of gratitude for everyone who has supported me along the way, above all for Chiara and my closest family and friends,
Vesta Magdalena
